Why I’ve started this Blog

Thank you for visiting my blog and reading my very first letter to all who are interested in Estate Organizing. I have many ideas about the information that I intend to relay to my readers about my business. First let me tell you what an Estate Organizer does.

  • Personal Bookkeeping on Quickbooks and Quicken
    • Pay bills
    • Balance the checkbook
    • Go thru the mail
    • Set up filing systems
    • Fill out insurance paperwork
  • Help clients to Identify, Organize and Document their Estate by putting together a “Life Book”.  This books includes important information such as but not limited to:
    • Family contact information
    • Advisors - Attorney, Insurance Agent, Doctors etc.
    • Financial - Bank Accounts, Investments Accoounts, Credit Cards etc.
    • Insurances - Life, Health, Auto, Disability etc.
  •  Assisting Estate Administrators - Most people don’t realize the extend of work involved when they agree to be the Executor of the Estate or Power of Attorney for a loved one.  I don’t claim to take the place of a good Estate Attorney many times I work with the Attorney and client in locating all the necessary documents and filling out paperwork. Also, I will help the heirs to go thru the contents of the house and prepare it for sale. If you have ever been in this situation you know how overwhelming it can be especially if you’re greiving.

My intention is to offer this service to allow heirs and loved ones to go thru their natural greiving process without having to worry about the extras. Which brings me to another reason for this blog….to let people know that help is out there.  Most people know what to do when the plumbing breaks, you call a plumber.  But people are not aware that help is here for the overwhelmed Executor or Executrix. So let’s spread the word!!!

It is also my intentions to share information about “Going Green”.  You ask; What does that have to do with Estate Organizing? Being “Earth Friendly” has always been very important to me therefore I try my best to do what ever I can by recycing, saving energy and saving water. When I’m helping someone clean out a house I try to be aware of what is going into the landfil, so I’m always researching what care be recycled and the best place to send it. Also, I just implimented a new policy.  When I go to a client’s house that I know doesn’t recycle paper I take my paper container with me and bring home the paper to put into my curb side recycling.  It’s one very simple thing I can do, and it’s interesting to see how much I accumulate in a week that would have otherwise just gone to the landfill.

I’ll close for now, but I look forward to hearing from my readers either about their “Estate Stories” or new tips on “Going Green”
